The activity approach in transport research is ingrained in time-geography since the extension of and distance between locations of resources make transport inevitable. In Hagerstrand's efforts to formulate a broader and more comprehensive framework for the time-geography approach, the landscape served as an important point of reference and from time to time he critically confronted the landscape concept. The chapter presents a summary of the "landscape of Hagerstrand".
